Bristol consultancy launches ‘The New Frontiers of Wearable Technology’

BRISTOL, UK – Award winning Bristol-based innovation and design consultancy, Kinneir Dufort, launches a new exploration project into Wearable Technology.

Kinnier Dufort has a long history of developing wearable technologies for their clients, long before the term ‘wearables’ became associated with gadgetry and the fitness ‘must have’ toys of today.  With all the activity in this area in the last 18 months Kinneir Dufort have seen their clients becoming increasingly interested in understanding the impact and opportunities that wearables present for their business.

Rather than taking a short term approach, Kinneir Dufort are looking beyond the existing applications, to explore and map out the ‘New Frontiers of Wearable Technology’.

To do this they are combining their award winning in-house expertise in research, innovation, design and technology.  The journey starts with an exploration into future applications, benefits and needs for wearable technology at the intersection of emerging consumer needs, technology potential and business opportunities.

“Kinneir Dufort wants to understand and uncover what is emerging in the short, mid and long term, and how it may become part of our daily live.  Kinneir Dufort aims to forecast future benefits and scenarios for consumers and the businesses that provide them. We shall identify and bring to life these future scenarios that could range from meaningful healthcare application, to the use of multi-sensory technology to enhance our everyday experiences.” Peter Fullagar, Head of Innovation

“In all this excitement and enthusiasm it is easy to get caught up in the now; focusing on the technology and design rather than benefits. Kinneir Dufort will be taking a step back from the ‘hype’ to understand the wider perspective and forecast the new frontier, developing a broader, more holistic perspective”.  Matt Dobson, Consumer Technologies Business Manager

Kinneir Dufort believes this is the start of this new frontier, delivering a genuine difference to enable, enhance and inform the way we live. They are excited to look ahead, thinking strategically about the category, to understand what potential opportunities they can predict.

Follow Kinneir Dufort's investigations into future applications, needs and real benefits in this fast growing tech category.
