The West of England Design Forum is a Community Interest Company. Formed in 2006 by a small bunch of passionate designers and design industry people who wanted to create a place for designers, and those interested in design, to come together, share ideas, be inspired and get connected. Ten years on this is still our aim. Together we will grow a dynamic, connected and thriving local design community.
For me the West of England Design Forum is a chance to engage with the wider creative community. An opportunity to exercise my passion for design education (through our Buddy scheme with UWE). And an excuse to be inspired by both my fellow WEDFers and of course the amazing speakers we continue to bring to Bristol.
As WEDF's Managing Director I oversee our programme of events, projects and communications and I co-ordinate our fantastic team of volunteers. We want to keep inspiring and connecting local designers, providing them with opportunities to grow their businesses and develop skills.
Being part of WEDF is fun and I enjoy helping to create something useful that drives businesses' understanding of design.
Inspiring others inspires me. Being part of the West of England Design Forum is an essential part of my design diet. I love being able to add our events to compliment the myriad of stuff that happens in Bristol and Bath, helping to bring the creative community closer together.
My involvement with WEDF has made me more connected to the local design community. I’ve been inspired, entertained and my vision for my work as a designer and illustrator has been expanded.
Being part of the WEDF is a great way to stay connected with the local design community – it gives me the opportunity to get involved with lots of inspirational events and meet fun, creative people too.
