PALS (Peer Assisted Learning Sessions) are informal group learning and skill sharing sessions for the design community where we collectively explore a subject. PALS can be insightful, inspiring and sociable. We’ll share our questions, thoughts and experience in small groups (and have a couple of people with expertise to call upon). We’re kicking off 2019 with three sessions:
Passion projects // Wednesday 16th January 6.30 – 9pm
January is a great time to embrace something new and maybe address that recurring resolution of doing something you love outside your day job. We kicked off the year with the first PALS of 2019 talking about Passion Projects — from how people make the time to funding and selling stuff. Looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Freelance life // Wednesday 20th February 6.30 – 9pm
Talking freelance life and all aspects of self-employment – from to starting out and chasing clients to the nitty gritty of self-promotion, pricing and getting paid. Come and share your plans for stepping out or your experience and stories of how it’s been so far.
Animate it // Wednesday 20th March 6.30 – 9pm
Exploring everything animation and making movement — from creating simple GIFS to understanding After Effects. Let’s share skills and tips and see how some group learning can move us all along.
These sessions will take place at The Forge, Colston Yard, Bristol BS1 5BD – a unique creative space in the heart of Bristol’s Arts Quarter. Tickets are £7 including a free drink on arrival (and there’s a bar to keep hydrated for the rest of the evening too!).
Tickets on sale here.
