** SORRY — ANNIE ATKINS’ TALK IS SOLD OUT **
Please email hello@wedesignforum.co.uk to be added to the waiting list
We are so excited to be welcoming Annie Atkins to Bristol in September — not only for another fantastic WEDF talk at the Arnolfini but also her first UK workshop at The Forge.
Annie Atkins is a master forger, creating ‘fake’ pieces of graphic design for movie productions all over the world. Annie has designed the graphics for four Oscar®-nominated films: the animated feature The Boxtrolls; Spielberg’s Cold War thriller Bridge of Spies; and Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs and The Grand Budapest Hotel (the latter went on to win the Academy Award for Best Production Design).
Originally from North Wales, Annie now lives with her partner and son in Ireland, where she teaches design students how to translate their skills to filmmaking from her studio in Dublin, and exclusively in the UK for the WEDF at The Forge 12 – 13 September 2019 — limited to just 16 places, more details here.
Our warm-up act is Flora Fricker, who completed an internship with Annie after attending one of her workshops. Flora is a graphic designer for film and television, working in the art department designing and making graphic props. From 1930s chocolate boxes to medicine labels and ephemeral objects — graphic props that help tell the stories and build the worlds you watch in the cinema.
Flora graduated from Falmouth University in 2017 with a degree in graphic design, and now lives and works in London.
Join us for what will be an inspiring insight into the creative world of filmmaking.
